Loose fur lifts away onto the mitt instead of settling into the couch. One face is a close woven textured cloth with a raised seam running across it, and that texture is what does the work: draw it along the coat and shedding hair gathers into a single sheet you can peel off in one piece and drop in the bin.
Because the whole thing is fabric, there is nothing rigid touching the animal. No pins, no wire, no hard tips. The pressure reads as a hand rather than a tool, which is the difference between a cat that tolerates grooming and one that leaves the room. It suits long, short and curly coats, and it works on dogs, cats and rabbits alike.
The reverse face is open black mesh, so a long session does not leave your hand hot, and a yellow elastic strap holds the mitt in place without needing to grip it. It is soft enough to fold into a drawer and simple enough to rinse and hang dry.
